Dr Christina Petropoulos
Petropoulos is a General Paediatrician at UCLH sees patients
privately at the Portland Hospital and also works as Locum
Associate Paediatrician to Dr Ian Hay Ltd.
She is very
much a generalist, looking after children and young people for
both routine child health surveillance and primary/secondary
care problems from infancy through to adolescence.
up in London and completed her medical training at St George’s
Hospital Medical School qualifying in 1990. She completed the
MSc in Community Child Health at the Institute of Child Health
in 2002. Her postgraduate training was mostly in paediatrics at
various London centres. As well her general professional
training, Christina has spent specific time training in a range
of specialties including emergency medicine, community
paediatrics, neurology, neurodisability and epilepsy.
She has been
a Consultant Paediatrician since 2005 and currently work as a
General Paediatrician with an interest in epilepsy at University
College Hospital. Christina is also the Liaison Paediatrician
for the Emergency Department and enjoys working in a unit that
excels in adolescent health.
Her other main
interest is medical education. Christina teaches on a number of
simulation and resuscitation courses and mentors and supervises
undergraduates and postgraduates. She was the Clinical Director
for the Paediatric and Adolescent Department at UCLH for five
years, until recently, but stood down in order to focus more on
fluent in both English and Greek.
She is a
welcome addition to the Dr Ian Hay Ltd team and as a mum of two
she easily identifies with and has empathy for, our worried
parents and young patients alike.
